ACI 522 Pervious Concrete Spring 2012 Committee Meeting Update

If you weren't in Dallas, here's what you missed:

1) Standard Details -- The ballot to approve the new standard details for pervious concrete pavements failed miserably.  All of the comments have been sent back to the task group to rework and ballot a new draft within 30 days.

2) 522.1 -- TAC has approved the committee's response to their comments.  ACI will publish the draft in May for public comments.  If the public comments go well, we could be published by the fall committee meeting.

3) 522R -- John Kevern has the task group well organized to rewrite the main committee document.  His goal is to start balloting chapters early this summer.  If all goes well, we should be on schedule to publish the next version in 2014.

It is difficult to hand over the reins of a great group like ACI 522 especially after leading such dedicated, passionate people for the last eight years.  So with a mix of sadness, relief and joy, I chaired my last 522 meeting today.  To all of the members past and present of 522, thank you for trusting in me to lead the group, working so hard to produce all of the great work we did, and not revolting when things got tough!
