Two of the American Society of Concrete Contractors' (ASCC) specialty councils, the Decorative Concrete Council (DCC) and the Manufacturer's Advisory Council (MAC), donated and built a playground at Tamassee Elementary School in Seneca, S.C. from February 29 - March 3.

This DCC and MAC collaboration consisted of a spray texture concrete overlayment and colored opaque sealers to create games and pathways throughout the 7,500 SF play area. Some of the games that the council members designed and installed on the concrete included hopscotch and four square.

Todd Scharich, ASCC  decorative concrete specialist and project manager for this installation, explained the appeal of this new playground for the children, “What was gray, cracked concrete was transformed in only four days into source of pride and joy for these kids."
