American Society of Civil Engineer's 21st Annual National Concrete Canoe Competition will be hosted by the École de technologie supérieure in Montreal on June 19–21. Civil engineering students from the United States and Canada will travel to the Olympic basin on Notre-Dame Island to compete for a $9000 academic scholarship.
More than 250 teams of students work throughout the year, logging hours of research, design, and construction to create their winning canoe. Winners from 18 regional competitions held in the spring will qualify for the national competition.
