The Concrete Industry Management Program (CIM), a concrete-specific business program that gives graduates a four-year Bachelor of Science degree in concrete industry management, is seeking donations at their sixth annual auction. The auction will be held at the World of Concrete, Las Vegas, on Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011 at noon.

“The proceeds from the 2011 Auction will benefit the CIM National Steering Committee (NSC) and support the current CIM programs as well as help fund future program expansion,” says Peter Brewin, chairman of the CIM auction committee.

Money raised from the auction will benefit and support NSC and the CIM programs at Middle Tennessee State University, Murfreesboro, Tenn.; Arizona State University, Phoenix; New Jersey Institute of Technology, Newark, N.J.; Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas; and California State University, Chico, Calif.

Last year's auction raised approximately $386,000, and according to Brian Gallagher, CIM marketing committee chairman, the NSC of CIM has raised more than $1.7 million in the last five auctions. “We've been blessed with tremendous support from the concrete industry,” says Gallagher.

Previous items up for auction have included cement, a skidsteer, concrete saws, drills, mixers, safety equipment, decorative concrete tools, laptop computers, sports travel packages, and more. To make a donation, contact CIM auction committee chairman Peter Brewin at
