Mixing and placing concrete is a relatively easy task with the right equipment and knowledge. Proper batching, mixing, handling, placing, and consolidation are important steps for production of concrete. Modern admixture technology has developed admixtures that make concrete mixtures flowable without segregation. Such self-consolidating concrete (SCC) has applications in difficult placements, such as members that are congested with reinforcing steel.
