When he founded Pikus Concrete & Construction in 1999 as a small residential contractor, Robert Pikus could not have seen the 90-foot-high shear walls that were looming on the company’s horizon. Today, the Pikus portfolio includes multilevel parking structures, stadiums, hospitals, multifamily high-rises, and industrial projects.
“One thing that sets Pikus Concrete apart is our ability to keep all aspects of structural concrete in-house,” says CEO Robert Pikus. “We tie our own rebar, we set our own forms, and we pour and finish our own concrete. This flexibility allows us to maintain or accelerate project schedules, even when faced with unexpected project delays.” Delivering this level of service and maintaining close relationships with customers and suppliers pays dividends for Pikus: In 2013, its work was comprised of 100% repeat customers.
