The American Concrete Institute (ACI) recently released their new concrete repair code. This code is based on almost a century of ACI content that combines the Institute’s historical knowledge with state-of-the-art resources on the evaluation, repair, and rehabilitation of concrete buildings.
ACI notes that the release of this guide represents a major milestone for their organization:
...not only is it the first material-specific set of requirements for repair materials,it also serves as ACI’s first code specifically for repairing reinforced concrete. Included in the requirements are all aspects of concrete repair, from conception to completion, including the basis for compliance, evaluation and analysis, design of structural repairs, durability, and construction.
