Darrell Gagnon, concrete placing manager of Cemstone, Mendota Heights, Minn., recently received a Pioneer Award from the American Concrete Pumping Association, Lewis Center, Ohio. The award, presented at the 2010 World of Concrete in Las Vegas, recognizes recipients for their unique contributions to the concrete pumping industry. Awards winners must demonstrate having advanced the industry, improved the conditions under which concrete pumping is performed, shared knowledge with others, promoted good will, and advanced safety practices. Gagnon joined Cemstone in 1993 and has more than 35 years of experience in the industry. In 1994 Gagnon joined Cemstone’s newly formed Concrete Placing Division, where he has overseen the company’s placing fl eet growth from two belt-driven conveyors to a sophisticated fl eet of 25 placing vehicles, conveyors and high rise booms.
