Another article in the series comparing timber construction to concrete construction. Despite the admission that it was 8% more expensive, Brock Commons, an 18-story dormitory in Vancouver, was built with wood and required the builders to develop new methods for construction which they say streamlined the process and reduced the actual time spent on site. Build With Strength and Concrete 2029 are fighting back but the wood industry claims they are the innovators and this effort is having a negative effect on concrete construction. The concrete industry is being outspent and appears to be behind in the PR battle.
