I’m really looking forward to World of Concrete in January, and not just because it will take me away from the Chicago cold for a week (although that helps). I’m also excited to spend some quality time at the Concrete Surfaces Decorative Pavilion in the Silver Lot. Here are two reasons why:
Artistry in Decorative Concrete Demonstrations. We’ve got a great lineup of industry artisans for this live-action event. They’ll be sharing their techniques and experiences with attendees while also competing for one of two $500 prizes awarded to the Experts’ Choice and Attendees’ Choice. Those visiting the Demos can vote for their favorites.
Concrete SurfacesDecorative Pavilion Awards. Exhibitors will showcase their latest and greatest in decorative concrete products and techniques, colors and stains, polished concrete, and more. Plus, for the second year, we will recognize the best of the art, craftsmanship, and industry education that goes on at their booths. And attendees can too, as each exhibitor is eligible to win either Experts’ Choice or Attendees’ Choice in three categories, as well as Best in Show.
Outside of the Silver Lot, there are other editorial events, seminars, and luncheons taking place all week, including the annual Concrete Polishing Luncheon & Forum. This year’s theme is “No good deed should go unpaid: How to set accurate bids, and get paid for work that wasn’t in the contract documents.” Contractors will get advice on how to collect field experience data, and then combine that data with a pre-project survey to recover expenses for jobsite problems that weren’t theirs in the making.
