The Sacramento Kings may be out of the running for an NBA championship this year, but the basketball team's new 17,500-seat arena is full-steam ahead. The arena, set to open in September 2016, will include about 700 pieces of precast and more than 1,000 concrete steps. According to an April 29 update from KFBK News Radio 93.1 FM:
Steady work being made on the new downtown sports arena ... shows continued installation of the structural steel and interior concrete walls being the major arena work happening this week. Workers are also installing and welding metal deck to support upper floors for the arena and neighboring practice facility.
The Concrete Producer, sister publication to Concrete Construction, recently profiled the project and featured this time-lapse construction video.
