Dean McKenzie, deputy director of OSHA's Directorate of Construction spoke recently at the 2015 Remodeling Leadership Conference in Arlington, Va. He explained OSHA's new requirements for accident reporting (enacted starting Jan. 1, 2015), temp workers, and discussed how to be a safety leader. He also highlighted the success of the national Safety Stand-Down campaign, held May 4-15, and commented on how to best manage relationships between construction pros and OSHA investigators.

"The attitude that you receive them with is a huge benefit to how that challenging relationship is going to go," said McKenzie.
