Dean McKenzie, deputy director of OSHA's Directorate of Construction spoke recently at the 2015 Remodeling Leadership Conference. He highlighted the good news – overall jobsite fatalities are down – and where there's still room for improvement. In 2013, the most recent year for which statistics are available, there were 828 fatalities on construction jobsites. He also discussed a new final ruling regarding confined spaces and the agency's 2015 National Safety Stand-Down campaign.
