On June 24 and 25, At Modern Concrete in Seattle, many friends of Marco Lucioni gathered to celebrate with him at The Seattle Concrete Playday, A regular event put on by Tommy T Cook, “The Traveling Concrete Gnome.” This Playday was set up by Lucioni s friends as a benefit auction to raise money to help pay for his mounting cancer bills.
On Friday and Saturday, 14 of the Northwest’s Premier concrete artisans and many other friends came together with Lucioni and made some beautiful concrete art that was auctioned off, along with over $15,000 worth of donated items. Together, more than $10,000 was raised for Marco and his financial needs. In all, there were more than 70 donors of auction items and the event was a huge success. Many thanks to Mike O’Connor of Rockwater Arts, Jerry Sanders Sr. of Native Stone, Mitch Moore of Modern Concrete, and Janice Taylor-Lucioni and Steve Silberman of ACW for all their hard work in making this a very special day for Marco.
