Clark County is taking a different approach to the often dangerous extreme sports phenomenon by adding a new Extreme Sports Park to the Pacific Community Park in Vancouver, Wash. A 20,000-square-foot area will feature skate bowls, spectator areas, and benches. The space is intended to eliminate the tendency for BMXers and skate-boarders to use public property for performing tricks by giving them a safer place to play. The project, led by contractor Thompson Bros. Excavating, Vancouver, Wash., is scheduled for completion by the end of August. Learn more at www.clarkparks.org.
