Concrete Industry Management (CIM) students were challenged to present a “toolbox talk” for this year's Concrete Construction Competition at American Concrete Institute (ACI) Spring Convention in Atlanta. The students were presented with a hypothetical scenario where a concrete company has lined up a number of high-profile projects in the Atlanta area. The talk would be given to crew members on the jobsite outlining how to properly place and consolidate concrete when the crew can't see the surface during placement. The winning team from Kansas State University was chosen because the talk clearly related to crew members. Members included Jeff Nelson, Caleb McNeil, Chris Baalmann, Adam Wiederholt, and Kristina Geisler, and were led by faculty advisor Kimberly Kramer, P.E.
