I used to have an old 45 rpm record of the Beatles' Paperback Writer, I think Rain was the B-side. Anyway, the needle used to skip off the record about 2/3 of the way through the song. Without a helpful nudge, I would hear McCartney singing "It's a thousand pages, give or take a few..." over and over.

I had the urge to give consumer media outlets a similar nudge as I was channel surfing the other day. CNN, CNBC, MSNBC, Fox News, local news stations, all conveying the same monotonous message about the nation's economic failures.

I am sure you've had enough, I know I have.

Moving beyond the current economic crisis, and planning for the future is the premise behind the American Society of Concrete Contractors' CEO Forum, scheduled for June 25-28 at the Nemacolin Woodlands Resort in Farmington, Pa.

The excellent program put together by ASCC includes presentations such as:

  • Construction's Financial Crisis: Where We've Been and What's in Store
  • Do You Have What it takes to be a Public Works Contractor?
  • Weathering the Perfect Storm...Strategies for Navigating a Turbulent Market

The economic crisis may not have hit rock bottom yet, but it is getting close. Signs of recovery make an appearance now and then, and the ASCC CEO Forum and related program offers the ideal opportunity for you to prepare your contracting business for the economic rebound.
