The Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA) announced the dedication of the Distinguished Engineer of the Year award in honor of Dave Kelly, at its annual meeting in October. The award, now named the David L. Kelly Engineer Award, honors Kelly's 50-year service to the industry. A long-time TCA board member and industry veteran, Kelly recently retired as vice president and chief engineer of Meadow Burke.

Kelly also will serve as the keynote speaker at this year's TCA annual meeting, held during World of Concrete 2009, in which he will give insight into the advancement of tilt-up during his career.

TCA has a total of five awards that recognize individual or corporate commitment to tilt-up including, David L. Kelly Engineering Award, Peter Courtois Memorial Award, Robert Aiken Innovation Award, Murray Parker Memorial Award, and Irving Gill Distinguished Architect Award. Nominations to all of these awards can be submitted to Jim Baty at jbaty@tilt-up.org throughout the year. Award announcements are made during World of Concrete each year.
