World of Concrete was everything it was cracked up to be this year. Even if you were there, I’m quite sure you missed some things. I know I did, with my damned sore knee keeping me from logging the number of miles I usually do at the show. From the six-foot pink bunny in the Silver Lot (courtesy of Rick Lobdell and Concrete Cares) to the Slab Construction Showcase in the Gold Lot to the breakfasts and luncheons in South Hall and everywhere in between, there were big crowds and much enthusiasm for the coming year.

Over the next few weeks we will be highlighting show events to give you some flavor of what you might have missed. One of my favorites was the Quality in Concrete Slabs Luncheon, where Rick Smith from SSI stated unequivocally that vapor barriers do not increase curling. Then Scott Tarr did his Godfather impersonation to cap it off. Another was the Concrete Polishing Luncheon led by Pat Harrison from SSI where a big crowd learned about polishing specifications.

It was a whirlwind 5 days! If you were there, what was your favorite memory?
