In an article on acid etch, reference was made to combining sawdust with a mixture of hydrochloric acid and water. I would like to know a recommended method of mixing the hydrochloric acid-water with the cement. Would it be advisable to mix it in a small on-the-job concrete mixer?
Simply soak the sawdust in the solution, using a plastic container. We would not suggest using a concrete mixer, as the acid solution is corrosive and a thorough washing of the mixer would be required after use. A good sized mortar pan, preferably one precoated with hardened mortar, might also serve.
