The showroom floor was a simple gray concrete floor with shake hardener. Lakewood Supply Showroom needed a showroom for the stains the company sells. The customer Chet Cocrane proposed doing a compass.
He hand-grinded the compass into the floor and stained all the different colors by hand. He also free-handed the checker board squares.
The sealer consisted of two steps. A water-based epoxy and then a water-based urethane. The combination gives the floor a distinctive shine.
