The surface of the Watergate's original pool was removed and a new Pure Texture concrete overlay was applied. Contractor Dominick Freda says the greatest achievement was addressing cracks with caulking that matched the grout color after completion to blend into pattern.

"Rather than use the coating in over them, we waited till the job was completely sealed, then had caulk mixed to match the color of the grout lines and fill the cracks," he says. "That gave us a more permanent solution and kept it decorative."

Finally, each stone was hand-colored using Pure Texture Accent powders to achieve natural veining and highlights.
