How much coverage should we try to get when using an epoxy bonding agent to bond fresh concrete to hardened concrete? Is it safe to apply it by squeegee?
Coverage should not be more than 80 square feet per gallon. The rougher the surface the more bonding agent will be needed. Squeegee, brushes, rollers or airless spray are satisfactory ways of applying it. Airless spray application should not be used if the temperature of the surface is lower than 70 degrees F. The operator must use a hood fed with compressed air and no workmen who are downwind should be allowed within 100 feet. No matter what method is used the agent should be applied to the whole area to be repaired and just slightly beyond, but care should be taken not to contaminate adjacent surfaces.
