Is it structurally safe to store supplies on a shored floor?
The ACI Building Code says that no construction loads should be supported on the floor unless the floor is known to be capable of supporting both its own weight and that of the applied load. This knowledge may be demonstrated by tests on job-cured concrete specimens and by a structural analysis of the proposed loads, test strengths and the strength of the forming and shoring system. The contractor may be required to supply the necessary information to the building official before being permitted to put a load on the floor.
