The winners of the 1996 Tilt-Up Achievement Awards provide striking examples of just how adaptable, economical, and beautiful tilt-up structures can be. All nine projects successfully combine high-quality construction, creative design, and aesthetic appeal, say the judges, a group of architects, engineers, and contractors active in the tilt-up industry. Many of the buildings demonstrate tilt-up's economy, with costs per square foot ranging from $23 to $48. And two of the projects--an electrical substation and a pair of water-cooling towers--are new tilt-up applications.
Sponsored by the Tilt-Up Concrete Association (TCA), the annual awards program is open to all TCA member firms.
