Registration is open for the Tilt-Up Concrete Association's (TCA) Annual Convention. The event will be held Sept. 29–Oct. 1 at the Hyatt Regency in Irvine, Calif.
This year's theme will be “Building for Disaster Protection,” according to Ed Sauter, TCA executive director. Presentations will focus on sustainability topics such as wind and storm resistance, seismic detailing, and multi-story construction. Also, the first release of information from the TCA's blast resistance research that was conducted with the Air Force Research Laboratory will be featured.
The convention is a good way to learn new things and network in the tilt-up industry. This year the annual Tilt-Up Achievement Awards will be presented during a special luncheon. Also, the exam for the Tilt-Up Supervisor's Certification will be offered. Additional information and registration details are available at www.tilt-up.org/convention/index.php.
