Dan Ellery director of research at Consumers Concrete Co., Kalamazoo, Mich., says that the most common cold weather question he hears from contractors is, "What can I do so that I can place concrete in the winter the same as I do in July?" His answer is, you can't! Ellery tells concrete contractors to think of concrete the same way they think of their own welfare: "If you are cold and need a jacket, the concrete is also reacting to cold conditions and may need cover."
