ACI has issued two new documents in the past couple of weeks that are of definite interest to contractors. First is the newly revised Guide to External Curing of Concrete (ACI 308R-16) which covers the basics of curing plus adds new information on the effects of elevated temperature on curing, covers elevated temperature limits during curing, discusses curing of mass concrete, and has recommendations on sensors and methods to measure and reduce thermal shock.

The second new report is ACI 560R-16, Report on Design and Construction with Insulating Concrete Forms (ICFs). This new document is a comprehensive introduction to the design and construction of reinforced concrete structures with insulating concrete forms focusing on ICFs for walls.
