The following is a partial list of safety rules drafted by the Steel Scaffolding and Shoring Institute. One, follow local codes, ordinances and regulations pertaining to shoring. Two, inspect all equipment before using. Three, a shoring layout should be available on the job site at all times. Four, inspect erected shoring and forming: immediately prior to the pour, during the pour and immediately after the pour. Five, use manufacturer's recommended safe working loads consistent with the type of shoring frame and the height form supporting sill to formwork. Six, do not exceed the shore frame spacings or tower heights as shown on the shoring layout. And seven, shoring load should be carried on legs.
