What are some of the things we should check into when our pumping pipeline pressures get high?
If the pressure is excessive for the operation the following could be possible causes: (a) segregation because the slump is too low or too high, (b) poor gradation of aggregate, (c) poor aggregate particle shape, (d) rich spots or lean spots because of improper or incomplete mixing, (e) contamination by large pieces of aggregate or frozen lumps not eliminated by the grating over the pump hopper, (f) absorptive aggregate that was not completely saturated before mixing, (g) mix proportions that are not suitable for the job.
