Q.: We will be building some low-rise apartments in early winter and we are concerned about the long waiting time before finishing. Would it be economical to finish by grinding?
A.: This method has proven successful and economical on a number of jobs in recent years. Essentially the method is to place, screed and bull-float, cure for 2 to 5 days and then grind with a grinder-finisher. At this early age the grinding is relatively easy and it is said that one man can grind about 4000 square feet in a day.
