Q.: How much additional force or suction do we have to figure on to break the initial bond between a tilt-up panel and the slab it has been cast on?

A.: That depends upon the type of bond breaker that was used, its quality and how uniformly it was applied. The additional force can vary from 5 pounds per square foot to 100 percent of the dead load. Some panels never do come loose from the slabs they are cast on because the wrong bond breaker has been used or it has been misapplied.
