If we use an epoxy adhesive will it resist freezing and thawing as well as the concrete?
If the right adhesive is used there should be no problem. Epoxy adhesives by themselves do not suffer from freezing and thawing. But epoxies have a much different coefficient of thermal expansion than concrete and consequently a high stress can develop between the adhesive and the concrete when there is a large change in temperature. Epoxy adhesives for outdoor service in severe climates are formulated to provide enough flexibility to accommodate this stress. An improperly chosen epoxy may cause failure because it is too brittle.
