Where can I get some reliable help in choosing and using epoxies?

I've learned that even though these materials are strong they don't always work--either because the wrong epoxy was chosen, or it wasn't used properly.

There are now four new ASTM standards describing the materials and test methods for evaluating them, and four new proposed ACI standards describing their use. These are:

  • ASTM C 881, "Standard Specification for Epoxy-Resin-Base Bonding Systems for Concrete"
  • ASTM C 882, "Standard Test Method for Bond Strength of Epoxy-Resin Systems Used with Concrete"
  • ASTM C 883, "Standard Test Method for Effective Shrinkage of Epoxy-Resin Systems Used with Concrete"
  • ASTM C 884, "Standard Test Method for Thermal Compatibility Between Concrete and an Epoxy-Resin Overlay"
  • Proposed ACI Standard 503.1, "Standard Specification for Bonding Hardened Concrete, Steel, Wood, Brick and Other Materials to Hardened Concrete with a Multi-component Epoxy Adhesive"
  • Proposed ACI Standard 503.2, "Standard Specification for Bonding Plastic Concrete to Hardened Concrete with a Multi-component Epoxy Adhesive"
  • Proposed ACI Standard 503.3, "Standard Specification for Producing a Skid-Resistant Surface on Concrete by the Use of a Multi-component Epoxy System"
  • Prosposed ACI Standard 503.4, "Standard Specification for Repairing Concrete with Epoxy Mortars"
