When the inspector found an error in rebar placement he made us take some out recut and replace. It caused more job delay than we could afford. Couldn't we have fixed it by adding more bars or splicing?
Usually it is possible to make up for errors in steel placement by adding another bar or two. This can only be done on the authority of the structural engineer, however, who can often be consulted by phone. He is likely to be able to offer an easy and economical solution.
