Concrete probably isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think of the silver screen, but here are three films in which it deserves top billing.

1. Concrete Love: This official 2015 Slamdance Film Festival selection centers around the Böhms, a family of renowned German architects.

2. Locke: Starting British actor Tom Hardy, this 2013 film was written and directed by Steven Knight. It tells the dramatic story of a family man and successful construction manager dealing with a life-changing situation the night before a major concrete pour. Hardy received a Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award for his performance.

3. Cement: Directed by actor Adrian Pasdar, this 2000 film is a police drama set on a construction site. Bill Holt (played by Chris Penn) has Sean Rickhart (Anthony DeSando) handcuffed to a rebar cage. What happened to bring them to this point?
