No where has the versatility of concrete been shown more fully than at the Brussels Exhibition of 1958. The Belgian civil engineering exhibit is an awe inspiring creation to the wonders of concrete. The exhibit boasts a 260 foot long beak, a reversed-A reinforced concrete beam, cantilevered from a triangular based pier which was counterbalanced by a shell roof cantilevered platform. A light steel and concrete footbridge was suspended form the beak by prestressed steel hangers. This supports more than ever that the real age of concrete has only begun.
