The Ramada Inn in St. Joseph, Missouri, consists of 120 "people boxes" made of reinforced concrete. Each of the room units is a 35 ton cell, 13 feet wide, 28 feet 4 inches long and 9 feet 4 inches high. The walls, ceilings and floors of the modules are 5 inches thick. The concrete modules was cast on site in special steel forms, each the size of the rooms to be used on the project, using lightweight ready mixed concrete. The structure should require little maintenance, and the room module technique is excepted to offer worthwhile saving over conventional construction.
