Is the amount of entrained air critical in its effect on the properties of concrete?

A drop of as little as one percent may do the following:

  • reduce slump by about 1/2 inch.
  • cut durability as much as 10 percent.
  • increase water demand as much as 4 percent.
  • cut yield by more than 1/4 cubic foot per yard.

  • diminish workability about as much as the omission of 50 pounds of sand per cubic yard.
