Please tell me if there will be need for more cement finishers in the future or fewer.
There seems to be an increasing demand. There were 45,000 cement finishers in the United States in 1960. By 1970 there were 65,000, and by 1980 it is estimated that we will need 90,000. That averages out to an increase of 2500 more finishers each year between 1970 and 1980. However, about 4500 leave the trade each year so the total new finishers needed is 2500 plus 4500 or 7000.
