An article in an engineering magazine states that muriatic acid may be used for the removal of grease from concrete. What is your recommendation on this?
Most authorities say no. If the concrete is dense, grease will usually not penetrate to any appreciable depth, and therefore scraping and scrubbing will usually suffice. One or more applications of a good commercial detergent should remove all grease from the surface, and if any stain remains it can probably be removed with a benzol solvent paste. Avoid using free solvents, since these will usually just drive the stain further into the concrete.
