We plan to take several cores from a building slab and want to avoid making bolt holes in the concrete surface to secure the drill stands. I don't want my workers standing on the drills to keep them in place. Are there other ways to secure the drills?
Most drills can be mounted on a vacuum base having a rubber gasket beneath it to hold the drill in place. A second approach is to wedge a piece of conduit or pipe between the drill stand and the ceiling. Many core drilling machines have a ceiling jack screw for this purpose.
