About ten years ago, one of the engineering journals reported that the Russians had developed a flexible concrete which could be welded by chemically softening adjacent surfaces and joining them under pressure. Is this material available?
We'd be pleased to hear from readers who know anything about this development. The only information in our files is a brief clipping from Engineering News Record dated January 14, 1960. Since our friends in Russia have always been adept at inventing things like the light bulb and the telephone long after someone else had invented them, it wouldn't shock us greatly to learn that in this instance they had invented something which nobody had invented.
