Modifications and improvements in flying form techniques and big sheets of welded wire fabric have speeded construction on a 14 story retired citizens' residence in downtown Orlando, Florida. Contractors for this project cut both time and risk by making 4 lifting holes in the deck, through which the rigger simply slipped the slings to workers below, who passed them around the double 2 by 8 stringers. Safety chains from the stringers to the top horizontal strut of each pair of scaffold legs assured that form and scaffolding lifted as a unit. Prior to placing of concrete, re-usable circular plugs, inserted from below, closed off the lifting holes.
