The American Concrete Institute will be testing out the idea of presenting their live convention sessions as Internet webinars. The next ACI convention will be next week in Chicago. To test the webinar system, ACI will be broadcasting 2 sessions on BIM (Building Information Modeling). These sessions are being broadcast on a test basis for free. The sessions are described as follows:

The presentations in this session will illustrate successes, failures, problems, and the potential of using Building Information Modeling for concrete structures in any or all phases of a project (design, detailing, fabrication, construction, and operation). Some presentations will be project-specific and others will cover topics such as industry standards, interoperability, and tolerance/fit issues."

To attend the sessions you will need to register for each. There is 1 session in the morning from 9-12 CDT and 1 in the afternoon from 2-5 CDT on Wed, March 24.

Here are the links to register for the 2 sessions.

There is no catch to this, other than you may be asked to answer a short questionnaire at the end of the session. Also, don't expect these things to be free in the future, as ACI must pay to have a high speed Internet connection in an actual session.
