The U.S. Occupational Health & Safety Administration has generated a simplified set of data. Out of 4,386 worker fatalities in private industry in calendar year 2014, 899 or 20.5% were in construction--that is, one in five worker deaths last year were in construction. The "Fatal Four" were falls (40%), electrocutions (8%), struck by object (8%), and caught-in/between (4%). Eliminating the Fatal Four would save 545 workers' lives in America every year.
