Mexico's most disadvantaged areas are now benefiting from a new industry breakthrough called Block ARMO developed by Armed Omega's Juan Manuel Reyes and architect Jorge Capistran. The new system uses single module blocks without the requirement of binders, mixtures, or skilled laborers.
More importantly, the system is low cost and can cut construction time by 50%. Stone blocks used production methods based recycled materials and low water consumption:
Juan Manuel Reyes explained that "the system consists of six pieces of self-assembly that are self-supporting. A metal rod is inserted every 80 centimeters, with no need for a special foundation, creating a structure where you can install pipes and wiring without any problems."
