Concrete Restoration

Quikrete Shotcrete MS–Fiber Reinforced was pumped as far as 500 feet from the riverbank, mixed with water at the nozzle, and spray-applied to fill channels and create weirs in the Spokane River.

More than 70 3000-lb bulk bags of shotcrete were used in restoring the Spokane River.

The shotcrete was customized to match the color, texture, and shape of the natural basalt riverbed, as well as the surrounding geology and landscape.

Prior to the restoration, this section of the river was mostly empty during hot, dry months as a result of man-made channels dating back more than a century.

The American Society of Landscape Architects recognized the Spokane River Restoration with an award last year.
