Decorative Concrete: Custom Formliners

The formliners show a lot of detail, taking your eye away from the repeating elements that make them cost productive.

SiteWorks designed the decorative elements for the bridge and retaining walls for this project. Some walls were 40 feet high. Custom formliners add interest to the walls.

Amy Westover's inspiration for this pattern came from a water reservoir with diminished capacity. The rings left on the shoreline became a record of water usage, perfect for the wall surrounding a wastewater treatment facility. Photo: Amy Westover

Located at the intersection of I-91 and I-215, this sound wall is located near the University of California at Riverside and features an image of its bear mascot.

Things aren't always what they seem. This presentation illustration was used to sell the concept of custom formliners to the owner. It isn't a photo and the project is still waiting approval.

This boulevard extension through the Petroglyph National Monument, Albuquerque, N.M., was sponsored by the Albuquerque Arts Commission and designed by Jack Mackie.
