Tackling a German Tunnel

An excavator worked in front of the Gomaco Commander III—spreading the concrete across the width of the tunnel.

The inside of the tunnel before the installation of the concrete floor.

The walkway mold’s telescoping ability allowed it to compensate for changes in the tunnel’s alignment. The walkway mold could telescope up to 700 mm (27.6 in.) in width and up to 350 mm (13.8 in.) in height.

The Gomaco Commander III’s tracks were turned at 35 degree angles to pave inside the circular tunnel. The floor’s profile was slipformed with a 720-mm- (28.3-in.-) wide drainage channel.
